Summary
Snippr is a local-first macOS text expander. Snippr does not track what you type. Your snippets stay on your Mac unless you choose to export or share them outside the app.
Snippr does not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, custom telemetry servers, or cloud accounts.
Data Snippr Stores
Snippr stores product data locally on your Mac so the app can work:
- Snippets, categories, and snippet settings.
- Local usage counts, such as how many times a snippet was expanded and approximate time saved.
- App preferences, such as launch at login, pause state, and local settings.
- Local diagnostic events that use safe event names and status values.
This data is stored locally using Apple's macOS storage frameworks. Snippr does not upload it to Snippr servers.
Data Snippr Does Not Collect
Snippr does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share:
- Raw typed text or keystroke history.
- Snippet content or abbreviation text.
- Clipboard contents.
- Passwords or secure text field contents.
- Website URLs, document names, window titles, or active app names.
- Email addresses, account identifiers, contacts, or payment card details.
- Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data.
Permissions
Snippr asks for macOS Accessibility permission. This permission is required for system-wide text expansion: Snippr needs to detect when you type a saved abbreviation and then replace that abbreviation with the saved expansion.
Snippr uses Accessibility for text expansion only. Snippr does not use it to save raw keystrokes, inspect private documents, or send typing data to a server.
Diagnostics
Snippr may use Apple-provided crash and performance reporting available through App Store Connect, TestFlight, Xcode Organizer, and MetricKit. These reports are governed by Apple's diagnostics settings and developer tooling.
Snippr also includes a local Export Diagnostics feature. You control this export. The exported report is created locally, can be reviewed by you, and is shared only if you decide to send it to support.
Diagnostic exports are designed to exclude snippet text, abbreviation text, clipboard content, typed text, URLs, document names, and window titles.
Payments
If you buy Snippr through the Mac App Store, Apple processes the purchase. Snippr does not receive your payment card number. Apple's privacy policy and App Store terms apply to payment processing, refunds, tax handling, receipts, and purchase history.
Future Features
If Snippr later adds optional sync, sharing, or anonymous health telemetry, this policy will be updated before those features are released. Any such feature should be clearly explained and controlled by you.
