How does Spotti search work?
You type what you're actually craving — a dish, a vibe, or a moment. Spotti parses your intent (using Apple Intelligence on supported devices) and searches for places where that craving is confirmed by evidence: menu mentions, matching photos, and review quotes.
Results are ranked by evidence strength. A place with a menu item confirmed in photos and multiple reviews ranks higher than one where the category is just a guess.
Why does Spotti return fewer results than other apps?
That's intentional. Spotti bets on quality over quantity. We'd rather show you 5 places where the carbonara is confirmed than 200 Italian restaurants where it might or might not exist.
If you're seeing very few results, try broadening your search or increasing the search radius in Settings.
Why am I being asked for location permission?
Spotti uses your device's GPS to find places near you. We request "While Using the App" access only — we never use your location in the background.
If you deny location access, searches will default to São Paulo city centre. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Spotti.
How do I delete my search history?
Your search history is stored only on your device (never uploaded to our servers). To clear it:
- Open Spotti → tap the search bar → swipe left on any item to delete it individually, or
- Delete and reinstall the app to erase all local data.
What does "confirmed by evidence" mean?
Spotti checks three types of evidence for each result:
- Menu: the dish or item appears in the restaurant's menu data
- Photos: uploaded photos match what you searched for
- Reviews: customer reviews mention your search term
A result with all three is marked Verified. A result with only category data (no specific evidence) is excluded or shown last.
What are Moods?
Moods are curated filters designed for real moments — Date Night, Coffee & Work, Solo, Quick, Quiet, and more. Selecting a mood adjusts what Spotti looks for and how it ranks results for that context.
You can search without a mood too — just type what you want.
Does Spotti work without Apple Intelligence?
Yes. Apple Intelligence enhances intent parsing on iPhone 15 Pro and later (iOS 18.1+), but the core search experience works on any iPhone running iOS 17 or later.
Is Spotti free?
Yes. Basic discovery is free. Premium features — curated lists, new-place alerts, and extended AI — are planned for a future update.
A place shown in results has wrong information. How do I report it?
Place data comes from Google Places API. For inaccurate business details (hours, address, phone number), the fastest fix is for the business owner to update their Google Business Profile.
